In Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh, a neighbor rapes a little girl and is arrested

Police said on Thursday that a five-year-old child was reportedly violated by her 20-year-old neighbor in the Pharenda neighborhood of this Uttar Pradesh district.

On Wednesday, the child was playing outside her house when the suspect, who has been named as Mohit, reportedly lured her to his residence under false pretenses and raped her.

The victim eventually told her family members about the incident, and they reported it to the police. They further said that Mohit was detained and charged in the crime.

Police teams were sent out as soon as the family filed the complaint, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (Pharenda) Anuj Kumar Singh, and the culprit was taken into custody.
