In Tennessee, 93,642 postal ballots were cast for the Lok Sabha

In the state’s 39 parliamentary seats, 93,642 postal ballots were cast for the Lok Sabha election, while 239 of those votes were registered for the Vilivancode bypoll, according to a statement issued by the Tiruchy district collectorate on Wednesday. Following the separation of postal votes collected from other constituencies at the Centralized Sorting Facilitation Center in Tiruchy earlier in the day, the statistics were made public.

District Collector and Returning Officer M Pradeep Kumar provided further details on the facilitation center after an inspection. Earlier on Wednesday, Kumar said that voters who were away from their home constituency and on election duty used postal votes to cast their ballots. The authorities of the relevant Lok Sabha segment would then receive these ballots in person. It required money, time, and labor.

Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Satyabrata Sahoo has announced the building of the facilitation center in Tiruchy in order to finish the process in a single day. He also said that the postal ballots from the 38 seats will be divided and given to the relevant section authorities.
