State creates a five-person quality control unit to improve education

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: To guarantee improved education, the Maharashtra government established a five-person state-level quality assurance cell (SLQAC).
The directorate of state projects has been formed to carry out the Center’s National Higher Education Mission in the state and to promote quality, universal opportunities, and equality in higher education, according to a GR approved by the higher and technical education department on Thursday.

The committee will have its headquarters at Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University and be led by Dr. Pramod Yeole, a former vice chancellor of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University.
According to the government resolution, Rashtriya Ucchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) has been implemented by the Center since the 12th Five-Year Plan. This is because of the success of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA), which were implemented in the state to strengthen the quality and foundation of higher education. The SLQAC would be in charge of monitoring assessment progress and encouraging institutions to enhance their NAC rating in accordance with the state’s rising requirements for educational quality.
Additionally, it would be in charge of making recommendations for how to expedite the implementation of the directives, advising colleges on how to deal with challenges encountered when conducting NAAC assessments, encouraging colleges and universities to take part in the Pari-Sparsh program, which is run in accordance with NBA and NAAC assessments, and encouraging participation in NIRF and QS/Times rankings.
In addition, the SLQAC would oversee the process of capacity building, evaluate the operation of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell at the university and college levels, and assess the academic audit of the university and its associated colleges.
According to the GR, the committee would also work on action plans to support independent institutions, group universities, or college groupings, as well as to develop multidisciplinary course offerings.
