J-K: In preparation for Independence Day, the Indian Army conducts patrols along the Line of Control in Poonch

On Saturday, the Indian Army conducted patrols along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Degwar sector of Poonch district. These patrols took place in advance of Independence Day.

Earlier in the day, under the auspices of the “Meri Maati Mera Desh” campaign, the District Administration of Anantnag, in conjunction with the Municipal Committee Dooru Anantnag, the Jammu Kashmir Police, the local schools, and the CRPF, hosted the longest Tiranga Rally that has ever been conducted in South Kashmir.

Mohd Iqbal, the President of the Municipal Committee of Doory Anantnag, said that the demonstration was moved from the SDM office Dooru to the Sports Stadium. The program was attended by a significant number of residents, and at the conclusion of the event, respects were paid to the martyrs who had given their lives for the country in the region.

 

On this particular occasion, Tehsildar Dooru Khalid Zaffar, President of the MC, Dooru Verinag Mohd Iqbal, Dysp Humayun Muzamil, Executive Officer GM Dar, and other officials from line departments were present there.

 

 

Earlier, as a part of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav,” the Police Department organized a number of activities to observe “Meri Maati Mera Desh-Mitti Ko Naman Veroon Ka Vandan,” a countrywide campaign, at different police installations all throughout the Kashmir valley. These events took place at various police institutions. On day three of the campaign, a number of events were held all throughout the valley, which helped the campaign gather momentum. The campaign saw a variety of effective activities.

A massive Tiranga Rally was organized in Awantipora by the Jammu and Kashmir police in coordination with the district government. The Tiranga Rally began from the Police Lines in Awantipora and concluded at the IUST in Awantipora. Students, members of the general public, policemen and officials from both the police department and the civil department, and dozens of young people from all parts of the district all took part in the event.
