JCD students create an automated garbage can

Using cutting-edge technology, two JCD Vidyapeeth electrical department students have developed a touchless, autonomous trash can.

The trash can, which was created by Khushmeet Singh and Prince Kumar, opens on its own when someone approaches it, saving customers from having to manually dispose of their trash. The trash can’s lid automatically shuts once the trash is tossed inside.

Kuldip Singh Dhindsa, director general of JCD, praised the students and emphasized Vidyapeeth’s dedication to helping students pursue their creative goals. In order to produce more practical and helpful gadgets for daily use, he urged the students to combine old and modern technology.

The electrical section oversaw the production of the automated garbage can. Ultrasonic sensors are included into the bin’s construction, allowing it to detect people from a distance and trigger the motor to open the bin in response.

Principal Dinesh Kumar emphasized the project’s importance in advancing hygiene and cleanliness.
