Keralan woman beaten after turning down a marriage proposal

A guy in this coastal area assaulted a lady and four other family members with a machete a day ago after she turned down his marriage proposal, according to authorities on Saturday.

A case of attempted murder under Section 307 of the IPC has been filed against the accused guy, who has been placed under custody, according to the statement.

The event happened on Friday, when the lady was on leave from her job as a nurse in a Gulf nation.

Using a machete, the accused broke into her home at night and assaulted both the victim and other family members who attempted to help her. It further said that the woman’s father, who was one of the five wounded, had a cut to his neck and was in severe condition.

The lady had previously been married, but her husband had passed away. She subsequently met the accused, who then made a marriage proposal to her.

The police added that she had not, however, accepted the request.
