Man arrested after widow was assaulted in lawyer’s cabin

A banker sexually assaulted a 42-year-old widow who lived in the Moga hamlet in an advocate’s cabin at the Jagraon local court complex.

The police detained Parwinder Singh, a 50-year-old inhabitant of Barsal village, after filing a complaint.

He had contacted the Moga resident to come to Jagraon so she could fill out an application to get a loan for her daughter’s schooling. He raped her sexually after becoming drunk.

The event took place on March 30. On April 2, the lady filed a police report. While investigating, a case was opened.

The lady said to the authorities that she had no income since her husband passed away last year and that she needed the money for her daughter’s schooling. She requested that Sukhbir Singh, who she views as a brother, set up an interest-based loan from a financier. He informed her that he had spoken with Parwinder, a banker, who had agreed to lend her money. In order to finish loan paperwork, the purported lender contacted her at Jagraon on March 30.

The lady said that while arriving at Jagraon, the suspect requested her to go to his advocate friend’s cabin. while there, she saw the advocate drinking alcohol beside the suspect. Advocate Kapil, in the meanwhile, informed Parwinder that he was leaving and urged him to lock the cabin before he departed.

“After he departed, the inebriated suspect demanded sexual favors from her while locking the cabin from the inside.He then sexually assaulted me, she said.

She said that after the event, she had depression. She ultimately made the decision to file a police report. Surinder Singh, SHO of City Jagraon, said that after an investigation into the woman’s allegation, a rape case was filed against the guy yesterday, leading to his subsequent arrest.
