Mann claims Kejriwal is “being treated like a terrorist” when he sees him in Tihar prison

On Monday, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann paid a visit to Arvind Kejriwal, his counterpart from Delhi, in Tihar Jail. He said that he is being treated like a “terrorist” by the jail administration.

The prison administration is treating Kejriwal in a manner reminiscent to a terrorist. It was heartbreaking to see that he is unable to use amenities that are even inaccessible to ardent offenders. Why is he at fault? When we first met, there was a glass wall separating me from him, Mann said.

After a decision was made at an advance security liaison conference on April 12, the detained chief minister was permitted to see Punjab chief minister and party colleague Bhagwant Mann in the jail.

The two met in the jail’s “Jangla Mulakat” area, which is divided by a glass wall and has intercom capabilities on both sides, according to sources within the prison. The leaders conversed on a linked phone line for almost thirty minutes.

Following the instructions in the prison handbook, Mann went inside the jail like any other visitor would. Following his meeting with Kejriwal, he spoke with the media, telling them that the AAP head had instructed them not to worry about him.

Since the chief minister of Punjab is a Z+ security protectee, the jail officials had to have tight security measures in place within the prison. In parallel, to prevent any unexpected incidents, the Delhi Police has increased its presence outside the Tihar.

Kejriwal is being held in Tihar’s Jail No. 2’s Ward No. 3 after being detained by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21 in connection with an alleged excise fraud. Mann is on the list of six guests that the CM has supplied.

“Jangla Mulakat”

According to reports, the two met in the “Jangla Mulakat” chamber of the jail, which is divided by a glass wall and has intercom facilities on both sides. They conversed on a connecting phone line for almost thirty minutes. Following the instructions in the prison handbook, Mann went inside the jail like any other visitor would.
