Doctors from AIIMS-Bhubaneswar have been sent to Balasore and Cuttack to assist in relief efforts: Mansukh Mandaviya

According to Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Saturday, doctors from AIIMS-Bhubaneswar have been sent to the Odisha towns of Balasore and Cuttack to help with the relief efforts at the scene of the railway tragedy that claimed at least 261 lives.

In order to preserve innocent lives, he said, “We are giving the tragic train accident victims all the help and medical assistance that they need.”

According to a South Eastern Railway official, the number of fatalities in the disaster involving the Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express, the Shalimar-Chennai Central Coromandel Express, and a cargo train in Odisha’s Balasore district has grown to 261. He said that the site’s rescue efforts were over.

“The fatalities from the train catastrophe on Friday now risen to 261. According to Aditya Chowdhury, a representative for South Eastern Railway, “an additional 650 injured passengers are being treated at various hospitals in Odisha.”
