Mekedatu being used by DKS to get votes: Minister Duraimurugan

On Friday, family members saw Minister Duraimurugan and DMK candidate DM Kathir Anand cast their ballots at the Don Bosco School voting place in Katpadi Gandhi Nagar.

After using his franchise, Duraimurugan addressed reporters. He discussed Karnataka’s intentions to build the Mekedatu dam across the Cauvery River, which he said was not in Tamil Nadu’s best interests for equal rights and river connection.

Drawing on his two decades of expertise, he said that DK Sivakumar, the deputy chief minister of Karnataka, was advancing the agenda in an effort to mobilize voters. Sivakumar should temper his exuberance, Duraimurugan said, pointing out Tamil Nadu’s rightful claim to Cauvery water.
