Mother or Beast? A Raigad woman is arrested after killing her two children in order to elope with her partner

Maharashtra Crime: In the Raigad region of Maharashtra, a 25-year-old woman is accused of killing her two children, ages three and five, by smothering them to death in order to facilitate her intentions to flee with her partner. The horrific crime is the result of an extramarital romance.

After being questioned by the police and confessing to the horrifying act, Sheetal Pole, the accused lady, was reportedly taken into custody. Sheetal told the police that she killed her kids because she intended to go with her lover and thought the kids were getting in the way.

Police provided information, stating that Sadanand Pole, Sheetal’s spouse, had visited the weekly market on March 31. When Sadanand got home at approximately six o’clock in the evening, he discovered his three-year-old son and five-year-old daughter both asleep and in need of candy and footwear.

According to police, the children’s father, inconsolable, hurried them to the Alibag Civil Hospital in Raigad, where medical professionals pronounced them dead.

Suspecting foul play, authorities filed a report after the occurrence and started an investigation to find out why the children died.

According to Sadanand’s police testimony, when he came back from the market, he discovered Sheetal in the courtyard doing housework. She informed him that the kids were asleep.

The mother told the police the same tale, saying that the kids went to bed at around six o’clock at night and that neither they nor anybody else entered the home. Police submitted the remains for a post-mortem because they suspected foul play, and the results showed that the kids had been smothered to death.

Police questioned the couple many times in the meantime, and they discovered throughout their inquiry that Sheetal’s phone had sent calls and texts to a guy named Sainath Jadhav. After then, the police questioned Sainath and Sheetal’s parents, and they discovered that the lady had dated Jadhav before getting married.

When confronted with the recently revealed circumstances of her extramarital affair, Sheetal eventually admitted to the police that she had killed her two children by suffocating them to death by covering their faces with a towel.

The accused lady went on to say that before she married Sadanand, she had intended to elope with the guy she was in love with.

According to a senior police official, Sheetal said that she considered her kids to be a “hindrance” to her intention to escape with Sainath.

The officer said that the accused has been in police custody for three days and that more investigation into the matter is now being conducted.
