MP ‘Ladli Behna’ Scheme: The CM Issues Sanction Letters to Four Women

Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, handed out approval letters to Ladli Behna programme recipients on Thursday in the Duganagar slum neighbourhood of Bhopal.

From June 10 forward, qualified women beneficiaries of the programme would get Rs 1000 per month in their bank accounts. Chouhan said that approval letters were sent to the women’s doorsteps throughout the day to save them the hassle of visiting government offices.

According to an official, the CM delivered the sanction letters to Sheetal Mahavar, Sushma Raikwar, Sunita Lovanshi, and Ummedi Bai at their houses.

The CM praised the programme as empowering women and said it would boost their self-esteem and help them achieve their goals.

According to Lovanshi, she would use the funds to pay for her daughter’s academic needs.

Chouhan also gave instructions to staff to treat Ummedi Bai’s family members properly.

For the Ladli Behna initiative, more than 1.25 crore women have registered.

In addition, if the opposition Congress wins the next Assembly elections at the end of the year, it would provide Rs 1,500 a month to women.
