Navi Mumbai Police Register Case After 17-Year-Old UP Girl Is Raped and Impregnated
An official said on Sunday that the Navi Mumbai police had filed a complaint against an unnamed suspect for allegedly repeatedly raping and impregnating a 17-year-old girl in Uttar Pradesh.
According to him, the police on Saturday opened an investigation into the girl’s alleged rape under section 376 of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act based on a complaint made by the girl’s brother.
The attack was discovered when the girl, who was in Navi Mumbai visiting her brother in Kopar Khairane, went to the hospital and discovered she was 34 weeks pregnant, the official said.
According to the complaint, a guy is accused of repeatedly raping the youngster, who is a resident of a hamlet in Siddharthnagar, Uttar Pradesh, before April, he added.
According to the officer, the matter has been sent by the Navi Mumbai police to the Siddharthnagar police station for further investigation.
