Once again, girls beat males in the Madhya Pradesh board results; the 12th grade pass percentage is up

BHOPAL: On Wednesday, the much anticipated results of the class 12 board exams were released by the Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education. With 493 out of 500 points, Anshika Mishra from Rewa won first place in the Maths-Science stream, while Muskan Dangi from Vidisha won first place in the Commerce stream.

Compared to the previous year, a better pass rate was seen in the Madhya Pradesh board examinations.

“I feel honoured to have emerged as the topper in the Art stream,” said Shajapur native Jayant Yadav with pride, while Seoni native Sana Anjum Khan was overjoyed to have placed first in Biology.

Six faculties and 132 students in all have accomplished the amazing achievement of being included in the state merit list. Bhopal has the most students on the list with 13, while Indore has only one student.

Over 8,57,000 students appeared in the board examinations, which were held from February 6 to March 5 at 7,501 testing locations across the state. On June 8, 2024, a make-up test is planned for students who failed the original examinations.

Girls have routinely outpaced males in board examinations over the last several years. In 2023, females passed with a success rate of over 58%, compared to boys’ pass rate of just 52%. This year, guys’ pass rate is 60.55%, compared to nearly 68% for girls.
