Over Rs 15 lakh worth of illicit booze was found in Palwal

In the last 24 hours, the police have seized illegal alcohol in the area valued at over Rs 15 lakh.

According to police spokesman Sanjay Kumar, yesterday night a team from the crime department examined a vehicle that was parked next to a liquor store on the Garhi Lalwa road.

He said that upon inspection, 600 liquor cartons had been found inside. The domestically produced liquor’s estimated market worth is around Rs 15 lakh.

The driver of the vehicle, Lakhpat, a villager from Banswa, was unable to show official paperwork proving the alcohol’s provenance. He did, however, provide some paperwork, including two vendor invoices, but the Excise Department discovered throughout their inquiry that the alcohol was being transported unlawfully. The police then took Lakhpat into custody.

In the second instance, nine cartons of Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) were found hidden in a vehicle close to Hathin Gate, leading the police to detain a guy. During a normal inspection, the cops halted the automobile.

The officers found the alcohol after checking. Deepak, the driver, was unable to provide proper identification for the alcohol.
