PM Modi’s Tour to Varanasi: To Commence Projects Worth Rs. 19,500 Crore, Tamil Sangamam, And The Second Vande Bharat Express

On December 17 and 18, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Varanasi, his Lok Sabha seat, where he will introduce a number of development programs. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Modi will dedicate the Surat Diamond Bourse and the new integrated terminal building at the Surat airport on Sunday before traveling to Varanasi to participate in the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra.

Following his vision of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat,’ Prime Minister Modi will launch Kashi Tamil Sangamam 2023 on Sunday evening at the Namo ghat. It is anticipated that over 1,400 participants from various regions of Tamil Nadu will take part.

At a public event on Monday, Modi will officially open the Swarved Mahamandir, the biggest meditation center in the world, and speak to Mahamandir followers. In Sewapuri, a rural section of his constituency, he will also take part in the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra and watch live sporting activities featuring Kashi Sansad Khel Pratiyogita 2023 competitors.

The prime minister is expected to visit Varanasi and lay the foundation stone for several development projects valued at over ₹19,150 crore. These projects include the railway projects Ballia-Ghazipur City and the Indara-Dohrighat rail line gauge conversion, as well as the new Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Nagar-New Bhaupur Dedicated Freight Corridor Project.

The prime minister will also launch the Dohrighat-Mau MEMU train, the Varanasi-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express train, and two Long Haul freight trains at the recently opened Dedicated Freight Corridor, as a gesture towards improving connectivity and transportation.

Along with two ROBs, he will open a green space on the Shivpur-Phulwaria-Lahartara route. He will also set the groundwork for a number of initiatives, such as police housing and smart bus shelters.
