Punjab’s first city to provide internet services is Amritsar

The district achieved the top spot in the state for offering its citizens internet services. Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori commended staff for serving 99.94% of applications on time.

He said that the district was able to keep its top position in the state because of the diligent efforts made in the last several months to clear the backlog of e-sewa cases, which significantly reduced pendency.

There are up to 41 service centers operating here, and each day, over 425 individuals get assistance from these facilities across many departments.

Between April 15, 2023, and the present, more than 4.22 lakh candidates have contacted Sewa Kendras. More than 3.92 lakh of them received a range of services. Furthermore, 9,558 applications have been turned down, 10,313 applications are being processed, and 10,335 applications are still awaiting action.
