Punjab’s NHs would no longer have toll plazas, according to Dr. Balbir Singh

The exorbitant toll costs are now a polling concern. The Aam Aadmi Party, which the opposition claims is giving voters freebies, promised today to do away with toll booths in the whole state if all of its candidates for the Lok Sabha are elected.

During a roadshow in Rajpura, Dr. Balbir Singh addressed the public and said that travelers on highways were being paid an exorbitant toll. Numerous toll plazas like these were removed from state roads by the AAP administration. “I urge the public to support AAP candidates. We pledge to eliminate toll plazas off national roads, which drain commuters’ wallets, if all 13 MPs are elected, said Balbir.

In response to farmers’ worries, he said that AAP MPs will try to have the barriers that had been put up at the Shambhu border to prevent farmers from accessing Delhi removed.

The CM was unable to attend the roadshow, however.

According to sources, he made the decision in response to the Chief Minister’s assessment of the situation after a hailstorm that severely damaged wheat and vegetable harvests across the state.

There is fierce rivalry for Dr. Balbir from his own country. Four-time MP Preneet Kaur and former AAP leader Dr Dharamvira Gandhi, who is running on the Congress banner, are also said to be formidable candidates.
