Rain caused a key Arunachal road to wash away

The road between Roing and Anini was badly damaged by heavy rain that caused landslides in the remote eastern region of Arunachal Pradesh. The restoration process will take a minimum of three days.

The Dibang Valley district headquarters, Anini, is connected to Roing via a 235-kilometer route. Nestled in a valley on the way to the Line of Actual Control (LAC) sits Anini.

The valley is home to the Dibang River. A portion of the road was washed away by the previous day’s intense rain.

between the towns of Hunli and Anini in the state on National Highway-313. Pema Khandu, the chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh, has instructed the government to quickly restore connection.
