Two Samajwadi Party Leaders Are Arrested in the Video Case Concerning Amit Shah

The Delhi Police have issued summonses to Lalji Varma and Manoj Kaka, two leaders of the Samajwadi Party (SP), in relation to a videotaped speech that Union Home Minister Amit Shah edited. The Ambedkar Nagar-based SP candidate, Varma, defied the summons, claiming it was a ploy to sabotage his campaign. He emphasized his resolve to run for office in spite of the obstacles, while highlighting the promptness of the Delhi Police’s activities.

After sharing an altered video of Union Home Minister Amit Shah on social media, Varma found himself in hot water. A notification was sent to Varma as a result of the video, which caused controversy. Even in the face of pressure, Varma does not back down and does not allow himself to be frightened by such strategies.

“This is obviously an effort to stop me from putting in a nomination and running for office from Ambedkar Nagar, but things like what happened in Surat can’t happen elsewhere. Observe how quickly the Delhi Police are functioning. Within the following day, they arrived at my residence after filing the complaint on April 28. He said on Wednesday, “I will respond to the notice and I will not be intimidated by such tactics.”

In a similar vein, the Delhi Police have also called SP spokesperson Manoj Kaka, who must appear before them on May 2. Kaka, who is facing personal difficulties since his father is in the hospital in Varanasi, said that he needs more time to respond to the summons. He said that as soon as he discovered the controversial video had been edited, he quickly took it off of his social media accounts. “My father is hospitalized in Varanasi, and I will request more time from the police,” said Kaka.

Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, gave an altered video address that caused controversy in political circles.

Due to Amit Shah’s altered video, Delhi police have filed a FIR.
Following a report from the ministry of home affairs, the Delhi Police on Sunday filed a formal complaint over the distribution of a manipulated video of Union home minister Amit Shah’s address on social media. According to them, the Special Cell has filed a formal complaint under many IPC sections and pertinent IT Act provisions. Shah is heard supporting the removal of reservation quotas for Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, and Other Backward Classes in the video.

Assam-based detectives from the Ahmedabad Cyber Crime Department apprehended two individuals and detained a third.

Shah said that the Congress was to blame for the phony video’s dissemination, citing the party’s “frustration and disappointment” as the cause.
