Rajnath asks the Congress on the CPM’s promise to remove N-arms

Today, Rajnath Singh, the minister of defence, questioned the rationale behind the CPM’s pledge in its election program to eliminate all nuclear weapons in India. Rajnath insisted on knowing the Congress’ position on the matter since the two parties have an alliance in a number of states.

Rajnath said that there was a “deep-rooted conspiracy to weaken the country” and that discussing the disposal of India’s nuclear weapons amounted to gambling with national security. He was requesting support for BJP candidate ML Ashwini during his speech at a public gathering in Kasaragod, Kerala.

Since the country’s nuclear program was started in 1974 by Indira Gandhi’s administration, Rajnath insisted that the Congress make clear where it stands.

He said that eliminating India’s nuclear weapons would undermine the nation, which has worked hard to become one of the world’s 11 nuclear powerhouses along with China and Pakistan. He said in his address that the Congress and the CPM had suffered the same fate as everyone in India who had resisted Lord Ram.

According to Rajnath, the Congress was against the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

According to the senior BJP politician, the 10-year-old NDA government has kept its earlier pledges to abolish triple talaq, abolish Article 370, and construct the Ram Temple. He said that all of Modi’s promises—including elevating India to the top of the global economic rankings, protecting farmer welfare, and achieving significant advancements in both the country’s development and space industry—would be realized if the BJP were to win another election.
