We Have Given Rs 70,000 Crore To Ex-Servicemen, Congress Set Aside Rs 500 Crore For OROP: PM

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the Congress of being slow to implement the One Rank One Pension (OROP) program for the armed forces. He claimed that his government was the one to carry out the policy and had already deposited Rs 70,000 crore into the bank accounts of retired personnel who qualified for it.

According to the PM, his administration allowed female policemen to be stationed in advance regions and opened the doors of Sainik Schools for females.

“The Congress, aware that the sum was very little, chose to ignore the demand for OROP implementation and only allocated Rs 500 crore for it. Ex-servicemen had been waiting a long time for their demands to be met, and the BJP came to power in 2014. According to Modi, the government has already given them Rs 70,000 crore under the program.

Regardless of when they retire, troops with the same rank and years of service get the same pension under OROP.

Ahead of the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections on November 17, the leading campaigner for the Bharatiya Janata Party was speaking at a public gathering in Morena.

Many young people from the Gwalior-Chambal division, where Morena is situated, enlist in the military.

Modi said that the Congress has always manipulated national security, citing the military services as the target of one of the first frauds exposed after independence.

He said that the Congress had denied the defense forces access to new weaponry for combating enemies and had instead made them reliant on foreign supplies.

“The Congress did nothing and remained silent even after terrorists beheaded our soldiers,” Modi stated.

But, he said, under the BJP rule, things have changed.

However, the India of today is different, and terrorists are met with appropriate responses in their own tongues when they raid their hiding places. The armed forces have been given Made-in-India weapons and are outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities,” he said.

When former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said that Muslims had the first claim to the nation’s resources, Modi attacked the Congress for their remarks.

“We assert that the impoverished have priority access to the riches of the country. According to Modi, the impoverished constitute the largest caste, and those who fall under the SC/ST and OBC categories benefit the most from the Center’s free ration program, Garib Kalyan Yojna,” said the prime minister.

According to Modi, his administration has promised to build pucca houses for the impoverished, and 48 lakh dwellings have already been distributed to Madhya Pradesh recipients.

According to the Prime Minister, the Ayushman Yojna is yet another government promise that guarantees everyone receives free medical care up to Rs 5 lakh and is not forced to suffer financially.
