Regarding rumors that Rahul Gandhi might run from Amethi, Smriti Irani said, “It means that he is announcing his.”

Smriti Irani, a local MP and union minister, made fun of the Congress on Thursday for its “delay” in naming its candidate from the district. She said that the party seems to have realized Amethi’s strength and is plagued by loss. In the 2019 election, Rahul Gandhi, who is anticipated to run from Amethi in the Lok Sabha, was defeated by Irani of the BJP.

Union Minister and BJP MP from Amethi, Smriti Irani, commented on rumors that Congress MP Rahul Gandhi might run for two seats in the Lok Sabha: “Why is it that those who claim that Amethi is the Gandhi family’s stronghold are waiting so long to declare a candidate? You can see that Amethi is no longer the stronghold of Congress because of their lack of confidence. He is declaring his defeat in Amethi before the election if he is running for two seats. I had advised Akhilesh Yadav, his leader, to run from Amethi alone without the support of Mayawati, provided he had the guts. The real story will be revealed.”

The Union minister for women’s affairs, child welfare, and minority affairs also provided a report on her efforts over the previous five years on behalf of the constituency’s residents.

Smriti Irani persisted in her criticism of the Nehru-Gandhi family, claiming that they had prevented Amethi from developing for more than 50 years in order for the locals to stay impoverished and defenseless and to keep pleading with them with folded hands.
