Following the director’s detention in the excise policy case, the firm provided the BJP Rs 25 crore in electoral bonds: Leader of AAP Saurabh Bharadwaj

Saurabh Bharadwaj, a senior AAP politician and minister for Delhi, said on Friday that a pharmaceutical company paid the BJP Rs 25 crore using electoral bonds after the arrest of its director in connection with the excise policy case.

Speaking at a news conference held here, Bharadwaj said that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s life was in danger after he was detained by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday night in connection with a money laundering case involving excise policies.

“Kejriwal has been arrested without any evidence, and it is being repeatedly said that his life is in danger,” Bharadwaj said.

He said that in November 2022, a Hyderabad-based pharmaceutical business, whose director was detained by the ED in connection with an excise policy case, gave Rs 25 crore in election bonds to the BJP.

He said, “Therefore, the BJP is receiving the money trail and proceeds of crime in this excise case.”

According to the minister, there is no proof of any money trail or profits of crimes against AAP and Kejriwal, notwithstanding the accusations made against them.

The way Kejriwal was taken into custody, according to Bharadwaj, was “inhumane.” He also said that since Thursday night, the chief minister’s family members—including his aging parents—have not been let to see their relatives or AAP officials.
