Review of Pashmina goat farm operations

During his extended tour of Kargil, Dr. Iftikhar Hussain, Joint Director, Sheep Husbandry Department, UT Ladakh, stopped at the Pashmina goat farm in Khangral on Wednesday. He assessed the farm’s continuous development efforts in order to assess the district’s output of pashmina.

Assistant Director of Karakul Sheep Farm and District Sheep Husbandry Officer Kargil were with him. Dr. Zakir Hussain, the officer in charge of the Pashmina goat farm, emphasized the advancements made by the department in raising Pashmina output with the assistance of technical and field personnel.

Additionally, Dr. Hussain made several requests about the farm’s infrastructure development in order to maximize progenies for distribution among Pashmina breeders, therefore enhancing and elevating their standard of living.

Throughout the conversation, the Joint Director was also made aware of the necessity to support agriculture-related initiatives with enough money in order to ensure that enough fodder is generated to meet the livestock’s yearly needs.
