Significant fire at a pharmaceutical godown in Vijayawada

On Thursday morning, a large fire that started at a pharmaceutical godown on Vijayawada’s MG Road terrified the locals.

When five employees saw smoke pouring out of the windows while they were sleeping in the building, they notified the neighbors and the fire service. No injuries were recorded, however. Officials from the fire department responded quickly to the information they received, sending seven fire tenders to put out the fire.

Officials from the fire department anticipate that the damage caused by the fire to destroyed property would come to around Rs 5 crore. Workers first discovered the fire when they detected smoke coming from one area of the structure. Eventually, the fire spread across the whole warehouse. Seven fire tenders from Vuyyuru, Ajitsingh Nagar, Kothapeta, Krishnalanka, and Auto Nagar hurried to the scene and stabilized the situation.

Conversely, as a preventive move, authorities evacuated all surrounding homes and businesses. “It is believed that a short circuit in the godown caused the fire incident. To find out the causes, a thorough investigation will be conducted, the fire department authorities said.
