Singh Amrinder Raja Warring encounters an irate Lal Singh

Pradesh Congress Committee head Amrinder Singh Raja Warring paid a visit to former cabinet minister Lal Singh’s home today in an attempt to diffuse the animosity that had been building within the party after the Patiala nomination of Dr. Dharamvira Gandhi.

The proposal to give the ticket to a “turncoat” had been met with opposition by Lal Singh, who had called a meeting with party officials on April 20.

Warring’s visit was not disclosed to the media and was kept under wraps. During the next hour or so, Warring persuaded the seasoned politician and enlisted his assistance. Rajinder Singh and former lawmaker Hardial Singh Kamboj were also present at the meeting.
