Smriti Irani, a BJP leader, makes a poll pitch in Madhya Pradesh and claims that the next elections would be a battle between “Dharma and Adharma”

The forthcoming election, according to Union Minister Smriti Irani on Saturday, would not be a contest for votes but rather a conflict between “dharma” and “adharma” (righteousness and unrighteousness).

As a part of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s “Jan Ashirwad Yatra,” she was addressing to the general people at a gathering in Sehore. Elections for the MP Assembly will take place at the end of the year, according to PTI.

“This is not a vote-getting contest. Dharma and adharma are at war in this situation, she reportedly stated.

She reportedly added, “The British came and went back, the Mughal empire ended but we (Sanatan Dharma) are still here and will continue to be there tomorrow as well,” in apparent reaction to comments made against Sanatan Dharma by certain DMK leaders.

In reference to the impending elections, Irani said that this conflict is between those who use the name of Lord Ram and others who, with the support of Congresswoman Sonia Gandhi, whose party was in power at the time, present evidence in court denying the existence of Lord Ram.

“This election contest won’t be like others. There is an alliance of individuals attempting to undermine Sanatan Dharma, and we are determined to defend religion for as long as we live, she stated, according to the report.

Irani said that it was unknown if the Gandhi family would be frightened of queries from journalists in response to reports that the opposition coalition INDIA had announced it would boycott the programs of 14 television anchors.

The Union minister reportedly questioned how the Gandhis and the opposition would oppose Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

A jackal does not become a lion by just changing its name, Irani mocked the opposition group INDIA.
