The Amarnath cave shrine’s underground cabling project was assessed

According to an official spokeswoman, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha held a meeting of the Power Development Department on Saturday. Among other things, he evaluated the status of the underground cabling project for the Amarnath cave shrine’s grid link.

According to the spokesperson, Principal Secretary to Lt Governor Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, Principal Secretary to the Finance Department Santosh D. Vaidya, Principal Secretary to the Power Development Department H. Rajesh Prasad, and Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo were among those present at the meeting. He said that they also spoke about a number of issues related to summertime electricity supply.

According to the spokesperson, they spoke about the status of the underground cable project for the 3,880-meter-high holy cave shrine of Amarnath’s grid connection (from Sangam top to Panjtarni via the Pahalgam route, and from Rayil Pathri to the holy cave via the Baltal route).

The Lieutenant Governor gave the authorities instructions to make sure that the construction was finished on time before the annual Yatra began on June 29.

According to the spokesperson, Sinha also reviewed the state of the electrical grid and evaluated the steps done to reduce aggregate technical and commercial (AT&C) losses, capacity expansions, and the installation of smart meters. In response to worries about power theft, the L-G emphasized the need of increased local enforcement actions.

According to the spokesperson, he also gave the go-ahead to expedite the procedure for new electricity connections for the convenience of customers. According to him, the Lieutenant Governor gave the authorities instructions to make sure there would be enough electricity available in the summer.
