The ASI assessment of the Gyanvapi mosque will continue today

As the Archaeological examination of India (ASI) starts its scientific examination of the Gyanvapi complex, an advocate for the Hindu side said that due to the fifth Monday of the current ‘Sawan’month, there may be a little delay in commencing the survey today.
Today is the fourth day of ASI’s continuing survey.

“A survey is being conducted. The survey is also being supported by the Anjuman Intezamia Committee. “Because today is the fifth Monday of ‘Sawan’ month, there may be a slight delay in starting the survey,” said Sudhir Tripathi, an advocate for the Hindu side.

Subhash Nandan Chaturvedi, another counsel defending the Hindu side in the case, said, “ASI is conducting the survey in a systematic and scientific manner.” Measurements are being taken, but it will take time. After the survey is done, they will submit the report to the court.”

Vishnu Shankar Jain, a lawyer for the Hindu side, told reporters in Varanasi on Sunday that the Muslim side had obeyed the court’s decision and had completely participated with the survey.

“The ASI is doing a good job. The Muslim side has complied with the court’s decision and has fully participated in the survey. For the survey, every current technology is being applied. “The work will continue in the future in accordance with the court’s order,” he stated.

According to advocate Subhash Nandan Chaturvedi, additional inspection of the mosque’s premises is also underway.

“ASI is doing an excellent job. They are doing the necessary research. Further inspection of the mosque’s premises is also underway. All three graves have been photographed, measured, and mapped. A survey of the whole campus is being done…GDPR devices were utilized,” Chaturvedi said.

The scientific survey of the complex, adjacent to Kashi Vishwanath Temple, excluding Wuzu Khana, began on Friday, following an order from the Allahabad High Court allowing the ASI to conduct the survey to determine whether the 17th century mosque was built over a pre-existing Hindu temple structure.

On Thursday, the Allahabad High Court dismissed a petition filed by the Muslim side, the Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee, challenging a Varanasi court order allowing the ASI to conduct a scientific survey of the Gyanvapi mosque premises, except the ‘Wazukhana’ area where a “Shivling” was allegedly discovered last year.
