The murder of a Punjab tourist at Bhagsunag was denounced

Shopkeepers, taxi drivers, hoteliers, and other notable locals have denounced the Punjabi tourist’s death during a fight at Bhagsunag last week.

Tuesday saw a combined gathering of the Adventure and Tour Operator Association, Dharamsala, shopkeepers, and notable locals, including the Hotel and Restaurant Association, Dharamsala, Taxi Union, McLeodganj, Beopar Mandal, Bhagsunag, and Beopar Mandal, McLodganj.

According to Ashwani Bamba, president of the hotel association, “Travellers, particularly those from the neighbouring states, are the backbone of Dharamsala’s economy.” It is our responsibility to treat the guests with respect and cooperation. Assault and violence should never be our first choice. It is our responsibility to keep these things out of the way and provide a welcoming environment for visitors.

President of the Cab Union, Ashok, said that the union has no influence over the many outside cab operators. They are often seen acting irrationally towards the visitors. There are often hundreds of taxis parked in Bhagsunag’s tiny visitor parking lot, which makes room for no other cars and causes discussions to become heated.

There was a consensus decision to limit the number of taxis permitted to park at the Bhagsunag car park to fifteen to twenty.

In addition to installing CCTV cameras at Bhagsunag, Adventure Association president Akash Nehria called for the establishment of a police presence in the region.
