The Sarita Vihar flyover will be closed from May 1 to June 30 in order to make repairs

The Public Works Department (PWD) has announced that major repair and extension work on the Sarita Vihar flyover would cause carriageways to be closed for 60 days, from May 1 to June 30. Following the postponement of initial remodeling plans in 2023, this decision was made.

The project, which is broken up into four stages, is to take care of necessary expansion joints and repairs to guarantee the structural soundness of the flyover. Built in 2001, the flyover has been found to need immediate repair after a structural assessment carried out by the PWD. The traffic police gave its approval for the project.

Commuters using the flyover to get from Mathura Road to Delhi-Faridabad may anticipate more traffic while the repair is being completed. To minimize disturbance, the PWD has promised that one lane would be available for vehicle traffic throughout the restoration operation. According to reports, the carriageway’s half lane would remain available for traffic throughout the phased construction.

The first and second stages of the repair program will concentrate on the flyover section between Ashram and Badarpur, while the third and fourth phases will handle the section from Badarpur to Ashram.

The Delhi traffic police have issued a traffic alert in advance of the shutdown, asking commuters to look for other routes in order to avoid gridlock. In order to maintain efficient traffic flow, large and commercial vehicles heading towards the Sarita Vihar flyover on Mathura Road will also be subject to restrictions.

It is recommended that commuters using Road No. 13A from the slip road of the Sarita Vihar flyover do a U-turn to get to Mathura Road while heading from Ashram on Mathura Road towards Badarpur and Faridabad.
