At the Fenesta Open National Tennis Championship, Siddharth Vishwakarma and Rashmikaa Bhamidipaty triumph
At the Fenesta Open National Tennis Championship 2023 held here on Saturday, Siddharth Vishwakarma of Uttar Pradesh and Rashmikaa S Bhamidipaty of Telangana respectively won the men’s and women’s singles championships.
Rashmikaa defeated Gujarat’s Vaidehi Chaudhari, the previous champion, 6-4 4-6 7-6, while Siddharth defeated Karan Singh of Haryana 4-6 6-3 6-4.
The third-seeded Siddharth needed some time to calm down before unleashing his strong strokes and accurate backhands to win the men’s singles championship for the second time. He has previously won the championship in 2018.
In the third set of the women’s singles championship match, Rashmikaa maintained her composure to win the title for the first time.
Rushil Khosla of Uttar Pradesh won the boys’ U-18 singles championship by defeating Samarth Sahita of Maharashtra 6-3 6-3 in straight sets.
In an exciting three-set final, Aishwarya Jadhav of Maharashtra defeated Suhitha Maruri of Karnataka 6-3 1-6 6-3 to claim the girls’ U-18 singles championship.
The winners of the men’s and women’s singles categories took home the trophy and 3 lakh each with a total prize pool of over 21.5 lakh, together with kit allowance in the junior divisions, while the runners-up received 2 lakh and the trophy.
