Before the World Trade Center final, Kaif warns Australia with the colossal remark, “No Weakness in His Game”
Shubman Gill had an incredible IPL 2023 season, dominating rival bowlers left, right, and center while finishing the league’s highest scorer. Mohammad Kaif thinks the teenager has a more similar style to Sachin Tendulkar than Virat Kohli.
Prior to the impending World Test Championship (WTC) final between India and Australia, Gill has reached his peak at the perfect moment. The largest prize in red-ball cricket will be decided between the top two Test-playing countries at the Oval in London from June 7–11.
Since Gill’s outstanding performances for Gujarat Titans enabled GT go to the IPL 2023 final, where they lost to Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets using the DLS technique, there have been many similarities between the two greats.
Even if Kohli and Tendulkar are both sporting icons, Kaif would continue, the latter has nevertheless experienced highs and lows, and there are a few chinks in Virat’s armor.
With a staggering average of 59.33 and a scorching strike rate of 157.80, Shubman concluded the season with an astounding 890 runs in 17 games. Kaif gave the Gujarat Titans’ opening player great praise, stating that he currently has no ‘weakness’ in his game.
“Sachin was a highly disciplined hitter as well. If I contrast Virat with Sachin, the latter still has certain flaws. He traveled to England in 2014 out of shape. Outside the off stump, James Anderson constantly bothered him, and he had no solutions. In the series, he was a complete failure, Kaif said to Sportskeeda.
Given the growing number of similarities to Kohli and Sachin, Kaif believed Gill’s game was more comparable to Tendulkar’s.
“In my opinion, Gill’s style is comparable to Tendulkar’s. At this stage, it is exceedingly challenging to free him. There doesn’t seem to be a flaw in his play. Both Virat and Sachin are legendary. I’ve had experience playing with both, but Kohli has flaws,” the 42-year-old said.
