“Dey Football Manager”: Kuldeep Yadav and R Ashwin’s endearing social media exchange goes viral

Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin of India is renowned for his profound knowledge of cricket as well as his will to constantly study and rewire his brain to handle ever-changing obstacles. Even if Ashwin is unmatched in his expertise and understanding of the game, his Indian counterpart seems to have the advantage in one particular sport.

Kuldeep Yadav, an Indian spinner, is a football enthusiast who supports FC Barcelona in Spain.

Kuldeep claims that he would want to discuss football on Ashwin’s YouTube account.

His humorous social media banter with Aswhin, which began with Kuldeep’s tweet on Liverpool’s recent Premier League match versus Manchester City on Sunday night, led to the proposal.

Liverpool, a team vying for the Premier League crown, and defending champion Manchester City engaged in a thrilling match at Anfield that finished in a 1-1 tie. The World Cup-winning midfielder Mac Allister tied the score early in the second half with a penalty kick after John Stones had given the visitors the lead in the first.

Kuldeep’s love for football has always been evident from his social media postings, and the much anticipated Premier League encounter between Manchester City and Liverpool only served to highlight it.

This highline is amazing. Kuldeep Yadav responded to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp playing a highline despite the absence of many first-team players on X (previously Twitter) with, “Not afraid of anything.”

Ashwin said, “Dey football manager,” quoting the article.

The comment started a lighthearted conversation between the two, during which Kuldeep expressed his desire to discuss football on Ashwin’s YouTube channel.

Kuldeep said, “I won’t mind coming to your show to talk about this beautiful game, Ash bhai.”

“Quickly! I am acquiring knowledge of the game just for you,” Ashwin said.

It was a literary allegory for Kuldeep and Ashwin’s friendship on the pitch. The pair took 45 wickets each to completely destroy England in the just finished five-match Test series between India and England.

During this series, Ashwin and Kuldeep both achieved personal goals of their own.

In just his 12th Test match, Kuldeep became the second-fastest bowler in history (in terms of balls bowled) to achieve a half-century. Ashwin, on the other hand, played his 100th Test match in Dharamsala and claimed his 500th Test wicket in the third Test match at Rajkot.

The next Indian Premier League will see the two players in action next. While Ravichandran Ashwin will play for the Rajasthan Royals in pink and blue, Kuldeep will represent the Delhi Capitals.
