Eric Garcia Could Leave Barcelona With a 10 Million Euro Loan Offer, Says the Report

Barcelona has allegedly added Eric Garcia to the list of players who are eligible to leave Camp Nou during this summer’s transfer window in an effort to address their persistent financial difficulties. Before the summer transfer market opens, the Spanish heavyweights will need to reduce their pay budget by more than €200 million. They clearly have a strategy in place for generating money, and La Liga has already approved their plan for making it financially feasible. According to a report by the Spanish newspaper AS, the club anticipates raising at least €10 million with Garcia’s transfer.

According to an earlier report by the Sport, Inter Milan has previously enquired about Eric Garcia as they search for a pair of center backs this summer. The Serie A team has made the decision to give the Spaniard a loan. But in order to persuade Barcelona of the move, they could need to offer a permanent purchase option. In addition to Garcia, Inter Milan has shown interest in Frank Kessie and is contemplating hiring Jordi Alba, who just declared his intention to leave Barcelona this summer.

After his contract with Manchester City ended, Eric Garcia last summer moved his headquarters from Manchester to Barcelona. After joining the Catalan club, Garcia was able to establish himself in the defense and was a consistent starter for the first few weeks of the 2022–23 campaign. Garcia’s playing time did, however, significantly decline as the season went on. After Xavi Hernandez took over as Barca’s manager, Marcus Alonso, Andreas Christensen, and Jules replaced him.

There is very little possibility that Eric Garcia will make it back to the first squad even in the following campaign since Barcelona is allegedly in discussions to recruit Inigo Martinez from another La Liga club Athletic Club on a free transfer. Additionally, it is intended to deploy Barcelona Athletic’s Chadi Riad as a backup center-back. The 20-year-old Moroccan player has the potential to impress Xavi and will likely be called up often for the senior squad the next year.

Eric Garcia has said that he wants to continue at Barcelona, but the fact that he hasn’t played as much may hurt his chances of making the Spanish national team. Given that Garcia, 22, signed with Barca as a free agent, any offer for the player would be profitable for the team.
