Here is how Ishant Sharma and Zaheer Khan reacted when they discovered they had identical test results

Ishant Sharma and Zaheer Khan, former Indian pacers, observed startling parallels in their Test stats when they were on commentary duty on the fifth and final day of the second Test between India and the West Indies.

Play was disrupted by rain three times on Day 4; it also almost wiped out the second session on Sunday; and it delayed the start of play on Day 5 because of heavy rain.

West Indies needed 289 runs to win as Day 4 ended with them at 76/2. The first session was rained out, and the weather continued to play hide and seek in the second session as well. On the other side, India needed 8 wickets to win.

JioCinema, who was commentating the game, presented Zaheer and Ishant’s Test statistics, which startled the two former pacemen as well as other analysts Wasim Jaffer and Aakash Chopra.

Zaheer played 92 times for India in red-ball cricket, compared to Ishant’s 105 Test matches throughout the course of his career. Despite this, they still managed to capture 311 wickets.

The two ex-Indian pacers had the same amount of five-wicket hauls (11) and once each had a 10-wicket haul in their careers, but the synchronicity didn’t stop there.

The amount of wickets Ishant and Zaheer amassed on Indian soil was exactly the same, at 104, and their total number of wickets abroad was also the same, at 207.

Ishant said that Zaheer and he both struggled with arithmetic and that none of them was aware of the parallels in their figures prior to the broadcast.

As of Day 5, the second Test match between India and the West Indies was still being postponed because of rain. The match eventually ended in a tie.The two-game series was won 1-0 by the visitors.
