Palak Gulia, the quota winner, is on the list of 10m pistol shooters for trials

Palak Gulia, a teenage shooter, was rewarded by her Paris quota-winning performance in Rio de Janeiro by earning a berth in the Olympic trials for the 10m air pistol. Tomorrow, the trials will start here. Next up for competition in the tryouts are Palak, Esha Singh, Manu Bhaker, Rhythm Sangwan, and Surbhi Rao.

Manika and Sreeja leave the World Cup group stage.

At the ITTF World Cup in Macau, Indian table tennis players Manika Batra and Sreeja Akula lost to Wang Manyu of China and Chen Meng, the reigning champion, respectively, and were eliminated in the second round. Sreeja was defeated by the current Olympic champion 4-11 4-11 15-13 2-11. Manika fell short against the world’s #2 player, 6-11 4-11 9-11 4-11.

Competing against archers with able bodies, Sheetal wins silver.

Winner of gold in the Asian Para Games, Sheetal Devi, took home a silver in the national ranking archery event, trailing only the able-bodied and junior world champion Ekta Rani of Haryana. In the solo compound event final, 17-year-old Sheetal lost 138-140 to Ekta, a junior archer with more muscle than she had. The only para-archery champion in the world without weapons is Sheetal.

LeBron and Curry lead the US basketball team in the Olympics.

Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, and LeBron James lead the 12-man US Olympic squad. Behind an All-Star lineup that features 2022–23 NBA MVP Joel Embiid, the American men will fight for their fifth consecutive and 17th overall Olympic gold medal. In December 2021, Steve Kerr, the head coach of the Warriors, accepted the position.

At 58, Romario, a legend of Brazil, will join the Rio de Janeiro squad.

Finished The 58-year-old president of America-RJ, a second division team in Rio de Janeiro state, has registered striker Romario from Brazil as a player. He is scheduled to return to the game 15 years after he last played. Romario, who played for Brazil in two World Cups and scored five goals to lead his team to win in 1994, resigned in 2008 and was appointed America’s sports director in 2009. Romarinho, Romario’s son, is an American player as well.
