Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians want to win today’s IPL match in Mullanpur

Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians will be hoping to relieve some pressure with a comfortable victory during their matchup at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, tomorrow, after losing their previous two games.

Right now, both teams are situated in the bottom half of the points table. Punjab Kings have only won one of their past five IPL games, while Mumbai Indians have won two of their last five games.

The two clubs are separated by only a few decimal places, as Punjab outperforms the Mumbai Indians (-0.234) with a little higher net run rate of -0.218 in seventh place. Mumbai and Punjab have each lost four games.

Shikhar Dhawan will not be participating for Punjab in tomorrow’s encounter, thus, their main task will be to make the most of their top order. Ashutosh Sharma and Shashank Singh, Punjab’s middle-order hitters, have been the team’s lone bright light so far. The performance of Jitesh Sharma and the young Prabhsimran Singh, who have not yet lived up to their promise, is also a cause for worry for the team, even if a lot rests on Shashank and Sharma.

The Punjab management is probably going to decide whether to make any adjustments for their game against the Mumbai Indians. Batters have found it simple to target Indian combo Arshdeep Singh and Harshal Patel, as well as bowling tandem Sam Curran and Kagiso Rabada.

The Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, would also be hoping for a powerful outing from their batsmen. Their three-match losing streak was broken by their two victories at home against the Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, but a defeat to the Chennai Super Kings, despite a century from Rohit Sharma, sent them to the bottom of the standings. Because of the pitching circumstances and the fact that players like Rohit, Ishan Kishan, and Suryakumar Yadav are notorious for huge hits, the Mumbai Indians hitters will undoubtedly have the upper hand over the hosts.

It would be intriguing to see if the Mullanpur audience will provide some encouragement to Hardik Pandya, the recently named captain of the Mumbai Indians.
