Rachin Ravindra’s innings, according to Rahul Dravid, showed more “Chin” and less “Ra”

Rahul Dravid’s sense of humor is sometimes an underlying feature of his demeanor, but it was clear when he engaged in some lighthearted banter about how Sachin Tendulkar has had a more effect on Rachin Ravindra’s batting than he has.

Indian-born Ravindra got a brilliant 100 against England in the inaugural World Cup match.

Rachin was given the name by his Bengaluru-born parents, who combined the names Rahul and Sachin.

Have you heard about that?

He smashed five sixes yesterday when I was watching him bat. Perhaps there was a bigger ‘chin’ there. I’m not sure; I barely got the ball on the square. I had zero success hitting the ball off the square. Dravid demonstrated his ability to laugh at himself and make others laugh in the process. Perhaps having Sachin in it helped him surely.

The head coach of India did see his performance and was really pleased.

Indeed, fragments of it. They both performed quite well, in my opinion. Obviously gave New Zealand a pretty strong start in the competition, and it seemed that the wicket improved as the game went on. And yes, they both batted quite well.

Rachin batted for about an hour and a half to draw the game on a slow turner in a Test match in Kanpur at 2021 after being introduced as the tail-ender.

Yes, Dravid responded with respect in his voice, “I believe he played a Test match against us in Kanpur and I do remember him because he saved the Test match.”
