With a shutout victory against the Chicago Blackhawks, the Ottawa Senators extend their winning run to four games

NEW DELHI: On Thursday night, the Ottawa Senators beat the Chicago Blackhawks 2-0 thanks to a remarkable performance by goalie Anton Forsberg, who made 18 stops to preserve the shutout.
After giving up a total of 11 goals in his previous two starts, Forsberg’s shutout was his second of the year and his fifth in the NHL, demonstrating his tenacity.

The victory also marked Ottawa’s first four-game win streak in regulation this season and extended their winning run to four games, tying their season best.

Even with fewer players, the Senators were able to take the lead early in the game when Claude Giroux scored after a giveaway. After receiving a feed from Jacob Bernard-Docker, Giroux used his wrist to find the back of the goal from the high slot.
At 6:08 in the first, Ottawa capitalised on their early momentum to increase their advantage to 2-0. In the Blackhawks’ zone, Parker Kelly broke free from a pass and wristed a shot past Petr Mrazek that bounced off his glove and into the goal.
Forsberg held his ground in the crease in the face of pressure from the Blackhawks, blocking all 18 of their shots to give the Senators the win.
Ottawa’s victory was a noteworthy accomplishment, and the Blackhawks, who had been shut out for the 12th time this season, were left wondering what went wrong. Chicago had a difficult evening as they were unable to produce enough offence to overcome Ottawa’s formidable defence.
Defenseman Thomas Chabot was not available for the Senators’ game because of a lower-body injury he suffered in their last outing. Chabot’s slot in the lineup was filled by Tyler Kleven, who also made a defensive contribution for Ottawa.
All things considered, the Senators earned their victory, displaying tenacity and resolve in the process of extending their winning run.
