Emraan Hashmi: Following my son’s health emergency, I began to value my family more

When Emraan Hashmi’s son Ayaan was given a cancer diagnosis in 2014, it was one of the worst times of his life. In 2019, at the age of four, he was pronounced cancer-free. “I would say that I started valuing family a little bit more,” Emraan admits in retrospect.
“I realised that you can’t take anything for granted,” continues Emraan. Simply enjoy each day to the fullest, one day at a time.

You have no idea what the future holds. Have no regrets at all. I’ve started to pay a bit more attention to my family’s and my own health. Before Ayaan’s diagnosis, our diet was very unhealthy. After realising it, we drastically altered our way of living.
The actor, who formerly completed jobs back-to-back, has slowed down over time. Did he learn the value of work-life balance at that phase? Emraan adds, “It’s not because of any specific turmoil in my life; I’ve always wanted to strike a balance. I tried doing that after we got married and had Ayaan.” Being an aggressive workaholic has an impact on your life; therefore, I made a conscious effort to create as much time as I could for my family.
When you ask Emraan whether his kid has seen any of his flicks, he replies, “He recently saw Selfie and Tiger 3.” Because Tiger 3 was a big-screen experience, he enjoyed it more. He enjoys seeing big-budget films with intense action, lavish settings, and jaw-dropping special effects at cinemas.
