Akhilesh Yadav claims the split between the Samajwadi Party and Apna Dal-K was intended for 2022 rather than 2024

Uttar Pradesh Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and leader of the Samajwadi Party (SP), Akhilesh Yadav, said on Thursday that the coalition between his party and the Krishna Patel-led Apna Dal (Kamerawadi) has broken down since both parties have nominated candidates for the Mirzapur Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh.
Akhilesh Yadav said at a news conference that the Apna Dal (Kamerawadi) coalition was for 2022, not 2024.

Apna Dal (Kamerawadi) announced its candidates for three UP seats on Wednesday: Kaushambi, Phulpur, and Mirzapur. Akhilesh Yadav’s party also announced their candidate for the Mirzapur seat shortly after.

The members of Akhilesh’s party are Manoj Chaudhary from Baghpat, Rahul Awana from Gautam Buddha Nagar, Rajeev Rai from Ghosi, Rajendra S Bind from Mirzapur, and Bhagwat Sharan Gangwar from Pilibhit. Zia Ur Rehman Barq is from the Sambhal seat.

Apna Dal-K responded to the SP fielding a candidate from Mirzapur by saying that the Congress would now choose who will stay in the I.N.D.I.A bloc.

Sources claim that Pallavi Patel, the head of Apna Dal-K, spoke with Priyanka Gandhi about standing for election in UP seats when she was in Mumbai for the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’s closing ceremony. Pallavi Patel met separately with the previous head of the Congress and took part in Rahul’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Varanasi.

Apna Dal-K alleged that Akhilesh Yadav had abandoned them when SP declared its contender for the Mirzapur seat. However, because Congress is in charge of the opposition’s coalition, it must decide how to proceed.

Party leaders are cautioned by Akhilesh Yadav
In the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections, Akhilesh Yadav has advised party members to be wary of the BJP’s “conspiracies” and avoid being duped by the governing party.

Yadav was cited in a party release as stating that party members should be vigilant about safeguarding the booths since the nation, democracy, and the Constitution can only endure till the BJP loses power.

“The eyes of the entire country are on Uttar Pradesh, which will play an important and decisive role in the Lok Sabha elections,” he said, addressing the workers at the party’s state headquarters here. We must exercise caution while voting, be vigilant, and resist the BJP’s attempts to deceive us.”

Regarding electoral bonds, the leader of the SP said that the BJP has been found out about contribution gathering.

Even the pharmaceutical firm that produced the Covid vaccination sent funds to the BJP. The party is targeting the opposition out of frustration with the disclosure of contribution collecting.”
