Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, may enlarge his cabinet months before the 2024 Lok Sabha election. Om Prakash Rajbhar, the head of the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party, is reportedly in talks to join the administration.

MLAs from Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) and BJP leader Dara Singh Chauhan might potentially be admitted into Team Yogi. There are also rumors that one Muslim and one Jat from RLD would be appointed to positions in the Yogi administration.

A few months before, CM Yogi held a “courtesy meeting” with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to his office. The BJP president J P Nadda was also met by the chief minister. The sessions take place in the midst of long-running rumors about a council of ministers reorganization in the state.

“No such discussion has taken place yet…last time before the imposition of the code of conduct, the cabinet was expanded both in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh,” said SBSP national president Om Prakash Rajbhar in reference to the enlargement of the government. Based on that, we assert that an extension may be granted this time as well before the code of conduct is enforced.”

In the meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other members of the BJP’s Central Election Committee (CEC) convened on Thursday night to discuss finalizing the first slate of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections, which are scheduled for April or May. Sources state that Rajnath Singh from Lucknow, Ravi Kishan from Gorakhpur, Harish Dwivedi from Basti, Kamlesh Paswan from Bansgaon, Ajay Mishra Teni from Kheri, SPS Baghel from Agra, Rajkumar Chahar from Fatehpur Sikri, and Sanjeev from Muzaffarnagar are the candidates running for the prime minister’s seat in Uttar Pradesh, Varanasi. Election candidates include Smriti Irani from Baliyan, Amethi, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti from Fatehpur, and Subrata Pathak from Kannauj.
