The UP government lifts the ban on girls’ coaching sessions after 8 p.m.

Delhi, New: The Uttar Pradesh government has revoked the prior order that restricted coaching centers and prohibited them from teaching ladies beyond 8 p.m. Akhilesh Kumar Mishra, the special secretary, signed the amended order on December 4 in response to strong criticism of the original directive in the context of the Noida “Safe City” project.

“By canceling the previously released guidelines, the following guidelines are being issued. All higher education institutions must guarantee 100% CCTV cameras to implement the Safe City initiative, according to the directive.

The revised directive sets out new rules with a focus on implementing enhanced security measures as part of the ‘Safe City’ concept. It requires that all postsecondary educational institutions make sure that all of their entry and exit gates, campus areas, teaching areas (indoor and outdoor), galleries, verandahs, and major educational institution gates are equipped with 100% CCTV cameras. The directive also emphasizes how crucial it is to provide female pupils with their own restrooms, especially at coaching centers.

The now-rescinded August 30 regulation had made it clear that coaching facilities could not continue teaching ladies beyond 8 p.m. Additionally, it forewarned of the consequences for any institutions discovered to be functioning against this direction. In addition to resistance from students in Noida and Greater Noida, opposition party officials expressed concern over the guideline’s potential effects on the “law and order” situation in Noida, which has been classified as a “Safe City.”

“If coaching institutes where girls are studying are found operating after 8 pm, punitive action will be taken against them,” said the directive that was subsequently repealed.
