Lucknow weather: With temperatures reaching 42° in April, heat mayhem breaks out

LUCKNOW: As the heat wave deepened on Friday, the city registered the warmest day of the summer so far.

Numerous UP cities reported experiencing similar situations. There won’t be any hot reprieve in the next few days, according to the Met office.

A bright sky and dry, hot air caused Lucknow’s maximum temperature to climb to 42 degrees Celsius, 2.5 degrees above average. At 23.4 degrees Celsius, the low temperature was 0.3 degrees higher than usual.
The sky on Saturday will be mostly clear throughout the day and mostly overcast in the evening.

Nevertheless, according to Met authorities, the heat wave will persist, with maximum and lowest temperatures predicted to reach around 42 and 25 degrees Celsius, respectively. With a high temperature of 44.2 degrees Celsius on Friday, Prayagraj was the hottest location in the state. In actuality, it was just slightly lower than the nation’s greatest maximum temperature of 44.6 degrees Celsius, which was recorded that day in Nandyal, Andhra Pradesh.

Rae Bareli reported 42.4 degrees Celsius, Hamirpur 42.2 degrees Celsius, Kanpur, Ballia, and Gorakhpur 42 degrees Celsius each, Basti, Bahraich, and Sultanpur 43 degrees Celsius, and Agra 43.4 degrees Celsius. Varanasi recorded 43.1 degrees Celsius.

“We’ll have similar weather for the next five days at least. The weather will continue to be above average. The state will also be lashed by dry, scorching, gusty winds that measure 25 to 35 km/h and originate in Rajasthan’s desert areas, according to Met authorities.
