Muzaffarnagar, UP, resident shot dead; wife and her companion on the run

An official said on Sunday that after a man was shot and killed here in Uttar Pradesh, the police arrested his wife and her boyfriend. Shama, the wife of Mehrajuddin, and Akib, her companion, remain at large, according to Circle Officer (CO) Shakil Ahmad. The event happened on Saturday night in the hamlet of Mujheda, which is overseen by the Miranpur police station.

In his police report, the victim’s brother Nawajuddin said that the 45-year-old brick kiln owner was assassinated because he opposed Shama and Akib’s relationship. According to the CO, Mehrajuddin was shot when he was dozing.
