NISHAD Party Wants the ‘Illegal Mosque’ Removed from Shringverpur Dham

In a letter to the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, the BJP ally NISHAD party has demanded that a “illegal mosque” be removed from the grounds of the Nishadraj Fort in Shringverpur Dham in Prayagraj.

The party promises to have the mosque’s “green flag” taken down and to raise a saffron flag in its place, as was done at Ayodhya.

According to Nishads, Shringverpur Dham is Nishadraj’s home, the leader of the riverine tribe who assisted Lord Ram during his 14-year exile and helped him cross the Ganga.

The party’s demand, which might serve as the Nishad community’s rallying cry, comes only months before the eagerly awaited Lok Sabha elections.

Sanjay Nishad, the leader of the NISHAD party, said PTI, “I have informed Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath about the issue and will personally meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss it.”

The cabinet member stated, “We want the same to be done in a democratic way at Lord Ram’s friend Nishadraj’s Shringverpur Dham, where Lord Ram had spent a night. The green flag was removed from the Ram temple in Ayodhya.”

The politician said that the BJP’s outreach to the populace with Indian “Sanskriti,” of which the narrative of Nishadraj is a part and which he would tell people about, is the only way to ensure the dismantling of the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya.

When he began cleaning the location in 2013, he said there was no mosque there. However, over time, a mosque arose and has now grown to cover acres of the property.

According to him, the mosque is not far from the location where a statue of Lord Ram and Nishad King is being set up.

Both in the archives and on the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) map, there was no mosque. It ought to be taken out, he remarked.

Since 2013, the Nirbal Indian Shoshit Hamara Aam Dal (NISHAD) party has been holding celebrations in the Shringverpur Fort for holidays like Nishadraj Jayanti and Vimukti Diwas.

He said that as a result of his work, the tourism office designated the area—where there is also a helipad—as a tourist destination and approved Rs 20.28 crore for its development.

Nishad said that the matter had been brought up at a recent party meeting by party members and that the unlawful building had caused resentment in the “machhua” neighborhood.

For Hindus, it is a question of religion. I am also seeking legal advice and looking at other democratic options for removing the building in the revered region of Nishadraj,” he said.

Elections for 2022 were run by NISHAD party, a BJP affiliate. There are six MLAs. His younger son, Shravan Nishad, is a BJP MLA, while his older son, Praveen Nishad, is a Sant Kabir Nagar-based BJP MP.
