The Narishakti Vandan Bill, according to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is a “revolutionary” move toward the empowerment of women.

The measure to provide women 33% of the seats in the Lok Sabha and state legislatures was tabled by the government on Tuesday. The first law presented in the new Parliament building was this one.

Adityanath said in a post on X that India, a great democracy, should be proud of the bill’s introduction.

He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Narishakti Vandan Adhiniyam” was a “yugantkari” (revolutionary) move towards women’s emancipation.

The chief minister praised the nation’s “matra shakti” (women power) for the measure and said that it would not only provide rights to the female population but would also strengthen and increase participation in Indian democracy.
