Shergarh block chairman of the SP joins the BJP in Bareilly

Bareilly: On Tuesday, 50 party members and party functionary Bhupendra Kurmi, the Shergarh block leader in Bareilly, joined the BJP, causing yet another blow to the Samajwadi Party. Kurmi, who is well-liked in Aonla, said that the policies of the BJP and Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, inspire him.

While the BSP has shown trust in Abid Ali, the SP has backed Neeraj Maurya, a former MLA from Shahjahanpur’s Jalalabad seat, while the BJP has nominated incumbent MP Dharmendra Kashyap.

The BSP candidate in Aonla, Neeraj Maurya, was recently charged with cheating after helping his buddy Satveer Singh file nominations from the same constituency as him using falsified documents in an attempt to win with ease. This is the second defeat for the SP in Aonla. Neeraj and Satveer were both charged under different IPC provisions. Singh Kanwardeep
